Going to a Commercial Tanning Bed
It is nice to be able to keep the tanned glow of summer all year round which is why many people choose to go to a commercial tanning bed. These commercial tanning beds can be found in tanning salons as well as in spas and other venues. There are different types of commercial tanning beds available in these venues, such as the conventional tanning bed, the high pressure tanning bed and the stand up tanning bed. There are even some salons that have sunless tanning beds where the tan is sprayed onto the body. There are some self tanning lotions available on the market today as well that allow individuals to keep their sunny look going with the rub on lotions. Some commercial tanning beds can be costly which makes some individuals choose to buy one of their own. However, the price of tanning bed parts also need to be taken into account since there is upkeep involved in maintaining a home tanning bed.
Commercial Tanning Bed Types
The conventional tanning beds and the stand up commercial tanning beds are the most harmful to the skin since they both have bulbs that give off UVA as well as the dangerous UVB rays. The UVB rays are those that have Vitamin D in them, but they are also the burning rays. That means that the exposure to these bulbs must be monitored because it is very easy to burn the skin and increases the risk of skin cancer. The stand up tanning beds have stronger bulbs in them, which increases the chance of burning, but the exposure time is also less since they are stronger, so it seems to balance out to be about as harmful as the conventional beds. These commercial tanning beds require a period of about four weeks to get the base tan established on the body. The people must go to them about three to five times per week for about twenty minutes per time (conventional; less for stand up) to get the base tan established. After that, the people can go to the commercial tanning beds for about two to three times per week to maintain the tan.
The high pressure commercial tanning beds are safer to use since they only have the UVA rays, which are the ones for tanning. These beds only require a base tanning time of about three to five sessions over a period of fifteen days or so. After that, the commercial tanning bed in this style only takes about two to three times per month to maintain the tan.
