Indoor Tanning Has Become Very Popular
Despite all the dangers people have been made aware of where tanning is concerned, a large percentage of people still insist on having a deep tan. Many people have switched to indoor tanning on a tanning bed to achieve that coveted tan.
In reality there is no difference between laying in direct sunlight and getting that tan by using a tanning bed. You are still exposed to the same dangers of UVB and UVA rays. Tanning bed lamps actually produce more powerful rays than the sun does. The improper exposure to UVB and UVA rays cause premature aging and burning of the skin.
In worse case scenario the person runs the risk of skin cancer. This does not mean everyone has to avoid a tanning salon. What this means is that all safety precautions must be taken to avoid the dangers of tanning. In reality it is safer to go to a salon where there are qualified assistants than risking using a tanning bed at home.
Do Tanning The Right Way
Before you go for a tanning session, be sure to ask some questions. Ask what the advised time is for your specific type of skin and how often it is advisable for you to have a session and still be safe. Enquire into what the best protective eyewear will be for you during a tanning session. Find out which tanning bed lotion for during a session and afterwards is the best suited to your skin.
All qualified staff at a tanning salon must be able to answer all your questions. It is part of their training to be educated to the risks of tanning beds and they must know every safety precaution. If the staff cannot answer all your questions fully and are not up to date with the products used, rather go find another salon. It must be remembered that the staff at the salon does not carry all the responsibility.
You came to them for tanning sessions. Thus the responsibility to do it in safety rests with you. In the end it will be your skin that could get damaged if you act irresponsibly. Tanning cannot be done in haste; it would be foolish to try and rush it and end up burning your skin. If you do it right and start with short sessions and gradually built up the time, you can achieve a good tan without risking your health. It is simply not worth the risks to rush tanning and end up looking ancient before your time.
